High-tech ceramics promote the development of traditional ceramics industry
June 20, 2022
Regardless of academic or industrial characteristics, the contemporary world ceramic industry can be divided into two categories: high-tech ceramic industry and traditional ceramic industry.
The main products of the traditional ceramic industry are ceramic products, which use natural minerals as raw materials, and use ceramic production technology to produce ceramics, pottery, porcelain, art porcelain, daily porcelain, ceramic sanitary ware, ceramic wall tiles, electric porcelain and other products. The industry has driven the equipment manufacturing industry, the color glaze industry, the hardware supporting industry, the kiln industry, and the raw material refining processing industry. The quantity is large, the energy consumption is large, the material flow is large, the environmental protection workload is large, and the material value is low.
The main product of high-tech ceramics ceramics uses chemical raw materials as raw materials, and uses ceramic production technology to produce ceramic plungers, spark plugs, capacitor substrates, roller bars, slabs, high-temperature refractory bricks, linings, abrasive bodies, wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant. Components, as well as materials needed in many modern technology fields such as energy engineering, environmental engineering, and bioengineering. The products are characterized by high performance, high precision and high added value.
In the silicate industry, in the past, the two types of industries have been clearly divided, with fewer replacements, exchanges, and interactions. It is accustomed to believe that the traditional ceramic industry is a civilian mass manufacturing industry, and high-tech ceramics are high-tech industries. However, from the current production development practice, the high-tech ceramic industry is developing in the direction of civilian use. The traditional ceramic industry should widely use high-tech and its products. It is necessary and beneficial to promote the development of traditional ceramic industry by utilizing the development of high-tech ceramics. There is much to be done.
There are many examples of this argument. The ball mill lining and grinding body made of various aluminum and high aluminum materials can replace natural stone, and greatly improve the ball milling efficiency, shorten the ball milling time and energy saving; some production technology and materials of high-tech ceramics are introduced into traditional ceramics. The industry can open up the functionality of traditional ceramics; the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of high-tech ceramics are used to replace the steel parts of the equipment to greatly extend the service life of the equipment, and so on.
In short, the use of a ceramic advantage to promote the development of another ceramic industry, that is, the development of ceramics to promote ceramics, should be worth exploring, and is a way to take shortcuts.
